TEENS ALONE | teensalone.org

Teens alone is a community-based organization with experienced outreach counselors committed to
  • helping families learn and re-learn communication skills
  • assisting youth who are having difficulties in school
  • supporting families and schools as they help youth define boundaries
  • helping youth process tough choices
  • helping families find hope
Since 1992, Teens Alone counselors have helped almost 3000 of our community's middle, junior and high school youth and their families.

One way counselors bring about change is to help teens acknowledge that there are consequences in life. If youth is talking about running away counselors help paint a picture of what life away from home is really like; that it may involve abuse, chemical use, prostitution, disease, pregnancy, criminal activity and hunger.

Teens Alone counselors consider themselves guides, helping families identify strengths, work towards solutions, and remind family members that they have successfully solved problems in the past and can do so again. Teens Alone counselors listen to youth and families and help them rebuild relationships.

Mission

Teens Alone is a non-profit, community based organization that provides free crisis, counseling, and referral services to youth and families in partnership with five school districts and their communities in the western suburbs of Minneapolis.

Vision

To create a community where young people and families in need will receive support and services whenever and wherever they need them.
